When looking at Saul Bass' work I really loved how simplistic his animations are. I also like how he included the text in the images and think I might do something similar to this in my own title sequence.

I really love a lot of Kashiwagi's work. My favourite was her title sequence pitch for the pacific. I really love the style she used for this pitch and I might do a similar style for my own title sequence.

Art style
I decided to look at some existing gifs and animations to give me inspiration for my title sequence. I was mostly interested in the ones with cool transitions as I would like to include some of these in my own title sequence.
Useful information
I decided to do some research on what size I should make my title sequence as it wasn't stated in the brief. Below are some websites that have gave me some knowledge on sizes.

Transitions
I really want my title sequence to have some interesting transitions so I decided to do some research and look at how to make good transitions. I also watched some videos which had interesting transitions to give me some inspiration

Practising
Before starting to make my transition I've decided to do some basic trials to make sure I understand how to use photoshop. I have never tried tweening on photoshop before so I decided to try a simple animation to understand how to use this.
Movie plot
For my Title sequence I have decided to go for a specialist with a quirk show. To help me choose an appropriate theme, song and colour pallet I want to make a brief movie plot.
The movie is going to be based on a detective/spy who has a special quirk which is that he is actually part cat. He can speak to animals which were at the scene during crimes which means he can figure out important information. He can also transform into a cat which also benefits him. He works with two other detectives which are twins. The twins are always cleaning up each others mistakes.

I really loved the intro to the 5sos live in the vault songs and felt they would go well with the theme I have chosen.

Below I have included a Spotify playlist I have made which includes some songs I thought would be appropriate for my title sequence. I would have to do a bit of editing to these if I were to use them. I was also thinking of maybe adding sound affects to some of these such as guns shooting, cats meowing, doors slamming and car engines.

Making the background music
After asking family and friends for their opinion. I decided that 'Billie Eilish - You should see me in a crown' went best with the type of title sequence I wanted to produce however, there were a few things I wanted to add to it.
I felt like the start of the song was too quiet and didn't bring much movement so I decided to add a footstep sound by using an app on my phone. I also added a gunshot at the end to give the song a better ending since I didn't want it to just cut off. Below I have added my final sound which I have edited.
Ideas
after listening to the song I edited I started to come up with ideas for tactual animation for my title sequence so I decided to make a mind map.
I want to make sure that the title sequence includes all characters, the title and show what the show is about. I made very simple and quick visuals to give me an idea of what movement will be in my title sequence.
Development
I started off with my intro. Since the start of my title sequences audio sounds like someone cutting paper I wanted it to look like the screen was splitting in half to introduce the first actor.
I then started on the zooming into the actor. I used 3d models to help quicken this process. However I still feel like it is missing something at this point.
since I felt like the gifs were missing something I tried to add some texture to them however I still wasn't keen. so I have decided to carry on making the next transitions and come back to these parts and maybe play around with the colours used and the font used for Lee dong wooks name.
I ended up changing the colour of the font and the background colour as I thought it looked too dark.

I then started working on the transition to the next scene. I made a lot of changes trying to figure out what to do for this stage. I started playing around with the colour and texture again since I was wanting to do red footprints however I think I prefer the red background.

After playing with the transitions I decided to stick with the city one and started on the next scene.

I have started to work on the scene when I introduce the twin actors. I used adobe dimension again to make 3d models to make this a lot easier.

Now that I have managed to include all the actors/actresses names I want to try and play around more with transitions and animation. I had the idea of turning the twins into a blood drop to move onto the next scene but i'm not sure if I like the look of it.

I then started working on getting a cat into the title sequence since cats play a big part in the film. For this I cheated a little and used images online to make it look like the cat was walking across the screen.
Next I wanted to add crime scene tape so that I could make it look like the tape was getting cut with the audio. I used tweening to do this.

I then added a car scene and a wine scene I wanted to turn the red background into the wine. I'm not sure if im going to keep this transition yet though. I played with the opacity for the car lights.
